Early Admission Program

Early Admission of High School Juniors

Early Admission is the movement from the end of the junior year of high school directly into the freshman year of college without benefit of the normal senior year or graduation from high school. The student will by-pass their senior year entirely and will not graduate with their senior class unless the high school agrees to allow such action.

To be eligible for the Early Admission Program, high school students must meet the following criteria:

  • Have an academic and leadership profile that place them in the upper part of Tech's freshman class. Academically, this is typically at least a 2000+ SAT score (Critical Reading + Math+ Writing) and a 3.6+ GPA (on Georgia Tech's recalculated scale).
  • Have completed all College Preparatory Courses outlined in the regular freshman application (with the exception of a fourth year of English) by the matriculation term.
  • Submit the following items to the Office of Undergraduate Admission at Georgia Tech:
    • Georgia Tech Application
    • $65.00 application fee
Fall/ Summer Semester Deadline- January 15 (Postmarked)
    • Official SAT and/or ACT scores directly from testing agency (SAT code: 5248; ACT code: 0818)
    • Early Admission Recommendation Form signed by the high school counselor and parent or guardian. This form verifies that the student possesses the academic, social and emotional maturity to benefit from bypassing the senior year.
