Pre-college Programs

Certain organizations and colleges on the Georgia Tech Campus provide summer program opportunities. Detailed information can be found by contacting the department or organization to inquire on availability. General information for each program currently available is listed below. This list may not include every program offered, inquires and questions should go directly to the department or college of interest.


The Georgia Tech Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing sponsors summer programs for elementary, middle, and high school students. Detailed camp listings are available at: www.ceismc.gatech.edu/summercamps

Elementary School

SummerScape Jr. (5th - 6th grade students)

An introductory science, engineering and mathematics enrichment camp. Summer 2005 courses include astronomy and civil engineering.

Middle School

SummerScape (7th - 8th grade students)

A science, engineering and mathematics enrichment camp designed to help students experience confidence and success in science and engineering.

High School

Advanced Topic Course (10th - 12th grade students)

An intensive five-day course in nanotechnology. Students applying for this course must have completed high school physical science or chemistry with at least a "B" average.


Women's Programs

The Women in Engineering Program will host a week-long, day camp for girls. The organization believes in order for girls to consider college majors and careers in engineering and computer science, they need to be informed at an early age. Through this unique, interactive and fun camp, participants will learn about these diverse fields

Technology, Engineering & Computer Camp (TEC) (6th - 7th grade students)

Exploration of engineering and computer science with female undergraduate students of Georgia Tech.

Girl's Night Out (rising 12th grade female students)

Undergraduate Admission's Office of Special Programs hosts this overnight visitation program in the summer. The program gives women the opportunity to stay overnight on campus, eat in a college dining hall, experience a college class, tour campus, and learn about student life at Georgia Tech from faculty, staff, and students.

Athletics

The Georgia Tech Athletic Association makes camps available to school age children from sports medicine to the Paul Hewitt Boys Basketball Camp. Camp listings and brochures for each offering can be found at www.ramblinwreck.com.

Architecture

Career Discovery Program in Architecture (11th - 12th grade students)

Rising high school juniors and seniors learn about the history and practice of Architecture and receive personal career counseling. In addition, students practice drawing techniques, learn principles of design and build models in the design studio.

Tours M-F 11:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M.
Admission information sessions M-F 10:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M.
Engineering information sessions M-W-F 12:15 P.M.
Computing information sessions M 3:30 P.M.

Preview Georgia Tech

Preview Georgia Tech is a one-day, open house type event offered to prospective students, parents, and school counselors in order to provide a more comprehensive look at the outstanding academic offerings, student services, activities and facilities at Georgia Tech. The program includes information about undergraduate admission, the President's Scholarship, internships and co-ops, financial assistance, study abroad, and much more. Preview Georgia Tech is offered three times each year.
