Regents' Engineering Transfer Program (RETP)

Each year there are academically capable Georgia high school graduates who plan to study engineering, but for whom immediate enrollment at Georgia Tech is not feasible.

For these students, Georgia Tech offers the opportunity to transfer to Tech through the Regents' Engineering Transfer Program (RETP). Through the RETP, students enroll for their first two years of course work at one of 16 participating Georgia colleges and universities.

During their two years of enrollment at a participating institution, RETP students are able to complete all of the mathematics and science courses, as well as many of the engineering courses, required in the first two years of the Georgia Tech curricula.

Students who successfully complete the RETP requirements at their participating institution are automatically accepted as transfer students to Georgia Tech and are able to continue their work toward completion of a Bachelor of Engineering degree.
